"Winter Week of Wisdom and Wonder"

MSA welcomes its students back to campus each January with a week-long program of mini-classes which highlight interesting topics, subjects, and experiences. Each morning, students begin their day with an "academic" pursuit, such as philosophy, psychology, filmmaking technique, public speaking, as well as concepts and information that students enjoy. The second half of the morning consists of a learning activity, such as African drumming, Salsa and tango dance, mountain biking, film critique, ethnic cooking, and many others. Afternoons are devoted to special presentations and activities. This program has inspired students to pursue new subjects and hobbies. Last year's list included:

Classes: Engineering Design with Auto CAD, Justice and Ethics, Games, Animated Short Film-Documentary Film Production, Introduction to Google.docs, Are you cold? Knit something warm, The Lost Art of the Personal Note & Correspondence in the Digital Age, Printmaking on Paper and Fabric, An Introduction to Psychology, The Lost Art of Storytelling & the New Art of Fair-Trade Coffee, Love and Fear: Our Complicated Romance with Technology, and Yoga and Art
