Miller School of Albemarle a Boarding School in Virginia for grades 8 - 12

On-Campus - Students have plenty to do on “the Hill” during the weekends.  The pool is open for swimming during warm weather, and fishing and canoeing are available at our 11-acre lake.  Students can often be found playing informal tennis and soccer games, or going for a walk around campus.  In the evenings, students can catch a movie playing in the Bistro (the student hangout adjacent to the school store) or start an impromptu open mic night in the chapel.

Off-Campus - Students have many opportunities to venture off “the Hill” during the weekends, for shopping, entertainment, and enrichment.  Regular activities include the following:

  • Shopping at Barracks Road, Fashion Square Mall, and Waynesboro Town Center
  • Movies at Zeus Digital Theater
  • Trips to Charlottesville’s Downtown Mall for ice skating, art shows, and other special events
  • Plays and programs at local theaters and the University of Virginia (UVA)
  • College athletics at UVA
