Thomas W. Pallante committed himself to the study of art and photography during his time at the College of Wooster, Ohio where he graduated with a BA in Fine Arts in 1999. He lived in Boston, MA where he worked for a photographic printing company before entering into graduate studies at Radford University in Virginia. After receiving his MFA in Photography in 2004, he taught all levels of Photography, Mixed-Media Art, Art Foundations and Art Appreciation at Radford University until the spring of 2008. He also instructed at Virginia Western Community College and New River Community College. Tom continues to create art that explores the social and political American landscape through photography and mixed-media collage.

Since joining the Miller School of Albemarle community in 2008, Tom is energized by the commitment to the ‘minds, hands, and heart’ philosophy. He appreciates the students’ and staff’s motivation toward establishing a creative, involved, respectful culture with high standards of honor and excellence in teaching and living. He believes the location and eccentric beauty of the preserved campus offers students a unique and inspiring place to learn and to grow.

Tom enjoys photographing Maverick sports, student life activities, and the natural and architectural beauty of the Miller School of Albemarle campus. Tom and his wife, Jayme Armistead Pallante, have a daughter, Lily Hope, and a son, Ty Collins.
