Coaching: Boys Varsity Basketball Assistant Coach

Through high school and college, Tommy developed an interest in coaching while working with kids and young adults on the basketball court. After he received his degree in commerce and spent a year in the business field, he realized that he missed working with students and went back to school for his Masters of Teaching in physical education and has been a physical education teacher at a local Albemarle County elementary school ever since.

Tommy joined the Miller School of Albemarle as a coach during the 2006-2007 basketball season. In addition to his coaching experience at MSA, he has worked with East Coast Fusion AAU and coached at many summer camps, including Five-Star Basketball. Tommy believes fundamentals and basketball IQ are the key to success at higher levels and is dedicated to helping players improve in those areas.

Tommy and his wife, Jessica, moved into the boys dorm in 2007 as Tommy accepted the Boys Dorm Director position. They now have a two year old daughter, Laina, who is enamored with her many older "brothers" and "sisters" at the school. Tommy, Jessica, and Laina love being a part of the MSA community, spending time outdoors on MSA's beautiful campus, and watching many of the students' games, events, and activities.
