Miller School of Albemarle prepares students to enter an increasingly technological world by helping them learn to use technology effectively and responsibly. The MSA Technology Department oversees the provision of and access to technology for administrative, teaching, and student use.
Building upon the foundation of the Flannagan Technology center first introduced in 1995, the Miller School of Albemarle is committed to providing technology as an integral and necessary part of a student’s learning experience. Upon graduation, MSA students are comfortable with the technology they will find and be required to use in higher education settings and beyond.
All MSA students are required to have a personal laptop. Laptops will be used in classrooms during the academic day. Students will receive a personal log-on from the technology department that will provide them with an email address, a google apps account for information storage, and access to the school’s printers.
There are no specific requirements for laptops, other than to be equipped with virus protection.
The Miller School of Albemarle will have a limited number of laptops (Compaq/HP 10” Netbook Compaq Mini 102) for sale or rent. Laptops can be rented or purchased from the school through 10 installments. The rental price will be $15 per month; August - May. (Students on financial aid will receive a rental discount based upon their aid amount). The purchase price will be $27 per month; August - May. Rented laptops must be returned in good working order on the last day of exams. Students who do not return rented laptops will be charged for the remaining cost of the equipment. |
