Steve Knepper grew up on a dairy farm in central Pennsylvania. He spent the better part of his boyhood either outdoors or reading books. He worked in a small-town hardware store for six years during high school and college. In 2006, he graduated summa cum laude from Juniata College, and he is currently a doctoral candidate in English at the University of Virginia.
A scholar of American literature and history, his work has appeared in Studies in American Culture, The James Dickey Review, The New Encyclopedia of Southern Culture, and The Journal of Mississippi History. In his free time, Steve enjoys hiking, farming, gardening, chicken tending, reading, and spending time with his wife, Annie, and their mischievous dog, Stella. Some of his favorite authors include Edgar Allan Poe, Alexis de Tocqueville, William Faulkner, Flannery O'Connor, and Cormac McCarthy. |
