Michael joined the Miller School of Albemarle community in August of 2004. He attended Lynchburg College (LC) where he received his B.A. in Spanish in 1998. LC always felt like home to him as both Michael's mother and Michael's wife are alumnae. Soon after graduating, Michael took over his mother's position as a Spanish teacher for the remainder of 1999. He escaped the world of six preparations and public schools by marrying Angela in the spring of 2000. Michael then moved to North Carolina where his wife was in the midst of her M.A. in Drawing and Screen-printing. Angela and Michael moved back to Virginia where he began the M.A. program in Spanish Literature at the University of Virginia. Michael graduated in 2004 with his M.A. and was hired by the Miller School of Albemarle in the spring of that year.
Michael is an avid tennis player, linguist, reader and bodybuilder. He strongly believes in the axiom of mens sana in corpore sano. He has a passion for videogames and has successfully argued that videogames can indeed be considered art. When he is not lifting weights or playing videogames, he works for ETS as a Scoring Leader for the Spanish PRAXIS and for the College Board as an AP Reader for the Spanish AP Language exam.
Angela Dalton, Michael's wife, is a talented caterer in the Charlottesville area. She is a supremely talented knitter, artist, chef, and a tremendous friend. Michael and Angela are loving parents to their two beautiful dogs, Penny and Max, as well as their lovable cat, Álvaro. |
