Overview:

A complete Application for Admission includes eight parts (detailed below).  You may submit each part of your application via mail, fax, or email.  The Admission Office will notify you each time we receive part of your application and keep you updated on what you still need to submit.

The priority deadline for fall 2012-2013 admission was February 15, 2012.  New student contracts will be mailed on March 10, 2012. After February 15, Miller School of Albemarle will review applications for remaining spots as they are completed, and admission decisions will be mailed immediately upon being made.  

Please note that the Miller School of Albemarle does not generally offer financial aid for international students.

Application Checklist:

Applications will only be evaluated for admission after an applicant has provided or complied with each of the following:

Part 1: A completed Application for Admission form, signed by the applicant and a parent or guardian. A $100 fee for international applicants must accompany the application. 

NOTE: If either of the following are true, an applicant is considered international student:
1. Your child will need an I-20 to attend Miller School of Albemarle.
2. The primary address of the parents is outside the U.S. during the time the child
would attend Miller School of Albemarle.

Part 2: A completed and signed Applicant Questionnaire

Part 3: A completed and signed Parent/Guardian Questionnaire

Part 4a/b: Teacher Recommendations from your current English and math teachers. 

Part 5a/b: A Transcript of completed work and a School Report Form from your current school. Please present the signed Transcript Release Form and School Report Form to the registrar, guidance counselor, or principal/headmaster. In certain cases, records will be requested for previous school years. 

Part 6: Most recent Standardized Test Results (e.g., SSAT, WISC, PSAT, SRA, CAT, SOL, etc.). In order to gauge English language skills, international students must also provide a score from the most recent TOEFL (9th-12th grade applicants) or SLEP (8th grade applicants) test that they took. 

Part 7: A Visit to the school and Interview on campus. Please call the Admission Office at +1-434-823-4805 Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. EST to schedule a visit. Visits should be arranged when school is in session so candidates can see a typical school day. (Applicants a great distance from the School may arrange a telephone interview after submitting all other parts of the application.)

Part 8: A copy of the applicant's Birth Certificate.
