Chris joined the Miller School of Albemarle in the spring of 1999, when he took the reins of 8th grade English from the legendary Colonel Tom Hart, and began coaching lacrosse. The following fall, Chris picked up the 12th grade classes, and has become known for his great love of literary analysis, his stewardship of The Poetry Club and the Senior Chapel Talks, and his quaking renditions of Titus Andronicus. He enjoys hiking the hills of Albemarle County and furthering the literary pursuits of his students. Over the years, he has seen his students' work published in Teen Ink, Nelson County Life, and the local Red Helmet Literary Review.
Chris received his B.A. in English from Denison University, and a M.A. in English from Middlebury College's Bread Loaf School of English, where he specialized in course work on the modern British poets, James Joyce, and the Romantic poets. Chris also participated in a National Endowment of the Humanities summer seminar on the poetry of Petrarch, in Avignon, France, served as the Site Director at Johns Hopkins CTY (Center for Talented Youth) program at Lafayette College, and has thrived as an Advanced Placement Reader for English Literature and Composition.
